It's my pleasure to write a recommendation letter for Mr. Blake Kleckner. In my time working with him, I've been thoroughly impressed with his professionalism, responsiveness, and the depth of his mastery of negotiating home loans. I can safely say I've never had a better experience with any contractor of any kind. A bit of backstory: I have a rental property, which I was attempting to refinance in order to acquire funds so that my wife and I could make a down payment on our first home.
At the time, I was working with Wells Fargo. They told me that due to the current climate, I couldn't qualify for a cash-out refi at any rate at all. Instead, they persuaded me that I needed to get a home equity line of credit (HELOC) instead. This had substantially worse terms than I was expecting, but I took what I could get. Getting all the paperwork through with my Wells representative was a tedious nightmare: she was constantly telling me how backed up she was due to "high volume." Email replies could take up to a week. It took me almost nine months to finally finish the process with them. After finally getting the HELOC, I had what I needed to go house shopping. My brother-in-law referred me to Blake at that time. I was a bit unsure but gave Blake a shot. I was immediately impressed: he let me know about a massive landscape of loan options that were never even hinted at by the Wells rep.
When we finally found a place, I was nervous because in order to get it I had to bid way beyond what my Wells rep had told me I could afford. Blake assured me it was in fact no problem: "You're solid gold, my man!" he told me :) In the purchase of the home, we were dealing with a seller who was setting very aggressive terms: the loan had to be turned around in a mere thirty days. Throughout the whole process, Blake was dogged in assembling together an immaculate package of documentation that would prevent any chance of the loan being rejected. In near-constant phone and email contact, Blake always let me know exactly how things were going and what was needed for the next steps. Blake picked up the phone on Sundays, and holidays, it didn't matter. At some point, Blake sent me an email at 2:30 in the morning! We successfully put the loan together in time for the close of escrow, which was just twenty-eight days after the loan was submitted!
I was so pleased with how things had gone with the home purchase, I immediately asked if he could put something together for me that was better than the HELOC I received from Wells on my rental property. Not only did he tell me that I qualified for a cash-out refinance, which Wells said couldn’t be done, but the monthly payment on the refinance loan would actually be lower than the original loan! I could pull out money and still have a lower monthly payment. Overall, Blake ended up saving me $661 a month with the new refinance compared to the HELOC and the old loan, and the whole process took less than forty-five days! I've since recommended Blake to my father, who is looking to refinance his home, and to anyone else, I know who is even thinking about buying a house.
